Identification of Base Level Cycle Using Symbolic Analysis Method

Symbolic processing of logging data is effective in reducing noise and rapid in analyzing geological information.Combining with symbolic processing method,introduced is a new method to identify base level cycle of log curves.The segmentation interval method is used to process well log data,then the values can be expressed by symbols.Log units and log form groups will be described by regular expression,then the base level cycles are automatically identified according to curve stacking patterns.The symbolic analysis method is applied in SP log curve of × well,and the base level cycles automatically identified with this method match well with the drilling results.So,the new method is effect.
