Numerical Modeling of High Slope Reinforced With Pretensioned Tendons

Fu Jing, Sheng Qian (Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute, Wuhan 430010)  
In the excavating process of the Three Gorges Project’s lock’s high slope, at the mid barrier between two lock routes and at vertical wall area appears large plastic zone which is proposed to be reinforecd with pretensioned tendons. By using the elastico plastic finite element method, a calculation on this situation was conducted.The results showed that the status of stress strain of the rock mass is good and their tensile area obviously decreased.
