TRAITS OF SOIL AND WATER LOSS,ENVIRONMENTAL HARMFULNESS AND COUNTERMEASURES IN THE FORTHCOMING THREE-GORGE RESERVOIR AREA

Soil and water loss is not only one of the main environmental problems,but alsothe basic cause of lots of sand in the forthcoming Three-Gorge Reservior area.Partic-ularly,it is the chief reason for the people's poverty in that area,The authors analy-sed the traits and environmental harms of soil and water loss in that area and proposedthe controlling countermeasures which are the scientific foundations of the project forcontrolling soil and water loss.
