ON CONTROL PLANNING OF WATER POLLUTION IN NANTONG CITY

In Nantong city,the water environmental quality is tending to deteriorate.The essential cause of this situation is the contrariety between the limited water environmental capacity and the aggravating pollution burden.By analyzing the reason,this paper advances the basic train of thoughts in control planning of water pollution in Nantong,which includes reducing pollution burden and adjusting the distribution of burden among waters.The paper projects three basic principles,which include controlling sources of pollution and diverting course of polluted water from clean waters,centralized treatment of polluted water which is characteristic of the combination of sewage treatment plants and dominant ecological engineering,and balancing environmental capacity among waters.Based on these three principles,the control plan of water pollution in Nantong is devised.Polluted water in Nantong City is to be secondarily treated and discharged to Yangtze River.After being ecologically processed by the beach,wastewater from Haimen and Qidong is also to be discharged to Yangtze River.After being ecologically processed by the seashore and shoal,polluted water in Rudong,Rugao and Haian will be discharged to Yellow Sea.In the near future,after being secondarily treated,polluted water in Tongzhou will be discharged to Tonglu River,and in long range perspective,after being ecologically processed by seashore,it is to be discharged to the sea.
