ON CONTINUOUS RAINY DAY CLASSIFICATION,CRITERIA AND THE SPATIAL AND TEMPERAL DISTRIBUTIONS IN CHONGQING

According to differences in every season,continuous rainy days are classified into5types-spring continuous rainy days,early summer continuous rainy days,midsummer continuous rainy days,autumn continuous rainy days and winter continuous rainy days.In this paper the criteria of continuous rainy days for a single station,the sub-region,as well as the whole region of Chongqing were put forward firstly,and then the frequent occurances of continuous rainy days were analysed systematically,which revealed the spatial and temperal distributions and types of confiuous rainy days of Chongqing.To the other types,autumn continuous rainy days have a frequency of77.9%.The early summer continuous rainy days have a frequency of29.6%.The others have a frequency of about30%.Serious and the most serious continuous rainy days occur mainly in autumn and early summer.Distribution characteristics of continuous rainy days in all seasons are concluded,The frequency is higher in the southeast part than in other parts in spring.The difference of frequency isn' t markedly in midsummer.In west and southeast parts there is a higher frequency,but in northeast part there is lower freguency in early summer,autumn and winter.The distribution types and regularity of continuous rainy days in every season are pointed out.
