RECENT PROGRESS IN LAND USE STUDY IN DEVELOPED COASTAL AREA OF CHINA

The shortage, degradation and low efficient utilization of land resources have become one of key con-straining factors threatening the ecological safety and impeding sustainable development in coastal areas of Chi-na. So, different fields such as geography,ecology, economy and sociology and so on have been attracted. The present paper makes a preliminary review on land use study on coastal areas from five aspects:①land use type and its change pattern;② recognizing driving factors and their working mechanism;③the study on effects of land use transition;④sustainable regional land use study;⑤land use optimal allocation. Lastly, some problems, which should be further studied, are put forward as followings:①transmitting mechanisms between land use and driving factors; ②land use behavior of different stakeholders including householders, enterprises and governments;③analyzing relationship between industry development and land use based on different stages, change of supply and demand, industrial structure change and social estates polarization;④quantitative estimating for comprehen-sive effect of land use change; ⑤the spatio-temporal diversion laws of land use types and optimal allocation of land use;⑥comprehensive study on regional economic backgrounds and geographical environment of land use;⑦comparative study on land use change in different type areas;⑧based on typical towns, analyzing driving factors of land use change and their difference in micro-region scale;⑨macro political and economic analyzing on culti-vated land protection in coastal area.
