ADAPTABILITY OF CYPERUS ROTUNDUS LINN. TO DIFFERENT SOIL WATER GRADIENTS

On simulation of the soil water gradients of hydro-fluctuation belt in Three Gorges Reservoir Area,four different kinds of treatment were applied to study the adaptability of Cyperus rotundus Linn.,including light drought stress(T1),normal water condition(CK),soil water saturation(T2)and soil submersion(T3).The result demonstrated that,there was no significant influence of water gradients to characteristics such as Pn,Gs,Tr,height and photosynthesis pigment,however,CUE showed a negative reaction.Parameters such as Pmax,LSP and LCP had the negative reaction in water-logging,while CSP and CCP showed the positive reaction.Different from CCP,parameters including LSP,LCP and CSP had a positive reaction to light drought stress.It was concluded that Cyperus rotundus Linn.had the great adaptability to both water-logging and drought condition,which was suited to be planted in the establishment of revegetation in hydro-fluctuation belt of Three Gorges Reservoir Area.
