STUDY ON INTERPRETATION OF LARGE SCALE LANDSLIDES BASED ON RS & GIS——TAKING WULONG COUNTY IN CHONGQING AS AN EXAMPLE

The landslide disaster was one of the worst natural disasters with large economic loss and personnel casualty in the world.The "3S" technology gradually became an important method on landslide information extraction and hazard assessment since 1990.The satellite remote sensing image data,the scanning graphic documents and the statistical data could be dealed with into many kinds of digital forms based on RS and GIS technology.The application of overlay analysis method might extract multiple spatial attribute properties of geography object in the same area and the identical spatial reference system.Wulong county in Chongqing was a high incidence region for landslide disaster.In this paper there were seven large scale landslides determined by the interpretation keys and the field research in Wulong county and these landsides volumes were more than 1 000 000 m3.The basic information of the landslides and the developing environment were obtained successfully.It could provide reference for wide-range landslide investigation,landslide monitor,landslide prevention and the resettlement work in the Three Gorges Reservoir Region.
