ANANALYSIS ON LAND CAPABILITY AND RESETTLEMENT IN FENGJIE COUNTY OF THE THREE GORGE RESERVOIR AREA

The study on the environmental capacity for resettlement is the basic work to make resettlement more scientific. The following thesis, which is on the analysis of the population and land resource data got from Fengjie county, Sichuan Province, is a research on the decrease of the environmental capacity for resettlement in the reservoir area due to the Three gorge Reservoir inundation. Quantitative analysis has been made on the capability of different areas and different types of land. The authors also discuss the relation between the resettlement and the environmental capacity, and the ways to resettle the rural population through comprehensive agriculture, urbanization and de agriculturalization.
