Study on the Protein Mechanism of Tumor Heterogeneity of Glioma Cell Line SWO-38

BACKGROUND OBJECTIVE: Glioma is the most common brain tumor in adult. This study was undertaken to investigate the protein molecular mechanism of tumor heterogeneity of gliomas with two sublines(SWOZ1 and SWOZ2) of SWO-38.METHODS: MDM2 expression in SWO-38 and its two sublines were determined by using Western blot analysis. Then, co-im-munoprecipitation method was used to exam the expression of MDM2 binding proteins in two sublines. RESULTS: Expression of MDM2 was observed in all SWO-38 and its two sublines, and there was a major difference between two sublines in the MDM2' S immuno-precipitation compond which was in the protein molecule weight of 37000. CONCLUSION: The difference in the MDM2 transmit channel protein with molecule weight of 37000 between two sublines of SWO -38 may associated with heterogeneity of the gliomas.
