Expressions of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 associated with ischemia-reperfusion brain injury

WANG Chunyan, ZHAO Zhongxin, XIA Bin Department of Neurology, Changzheng Hospital, Second Military Medical University, Shanghai 200003, China
By suming up the recent progress in studying the expressions of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 associated with ischemia-reperfusion brain injury, the authors in the paper argue that ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 are cell adhesion molecules in close relationship with ischemia-reperfusion brain injury which may to a different extent result in the expressive growth of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 mainly via the path of NF-kB. The regulating mechanism and the clinical application of antibody need further research.
