Effects of Salt Stress on Root Activity and the Chlorophyll Content in Cucumber Seedling

The effect of salt treatment on root activity and the chlorophyll content was studied in cucumber seedling by hydroponic culture. The results showed that root activity of cucumber seedling was increased at first and then decreased with salt stress. The chlorophyll content was decreased in cucumber seedlings by increasing salt stress time. Salt tolerant cucumber(cv.Changchun Mici) was lesser affected under salt stress than salt sensitive cucumber(cv.Jingchun No.2).
