Effect of Salicylic Acid on Cucumber Seedling Growth and Cell Membrane under Durative Low Temperature Stress

The effect of salicylic acid on cucumber seedling growth and cell membrane under durative low temperature stress were determined. The results showed that: suitable concentration of salicylic acid could increase the stem length, root length, fresh weight of cucumber seedling and obviously increase chlorophyll content, soluble sugar content and soluble protein content. It could decrease MDA content and conductivity, increase the stability of membrane under durative low temperature stress and relieve the injury by low temperature. But higher concentration of salicylic acid had opposite function compared with suitable concentration of salicylic acid. 2 mmol/L salicylic acid had the best relieving effect on seedling growth of cucumber under durative low temperature stress.
