Study on Utilizing NaCl Solutions to Overcome Self-incompatibility of Chinese Cabbage

In the paper,we took the self-incompatible line 07s20 as plant material,and sprayed NaCl solutions with different concentrations during the bud and blooming period respectively to overcome its self-incompatibility.The results showed that spraying 1%-5% NaCl solutions could improve the compatibility of 07s20 significantly during both bud and blooming period,but the compatibility was apparently higher while sprayed NaCl solutions at blooming period.In addition,while sprayed 3% NaCl solution during the blooming period,the compatible index was 8.54,which was 58.1% of that of the artificial pollination treatment's,and it was an ideal way to replace the artificial pollination during the bud period to overcome the self-incompatibility of Chinese cabbage in order to reduce the cost of seed production.
