Immature organic matter (peat) were pyrolysized at temperatures ranging from 200℃ to 400℃ under high pressure ranging from 0 1 to 2GPa in a closed system, and alkane generated from organic matter was analyzed. The results display: under constant pressure, the alkane has more mature characteristis with increasing temperature, at low temperature (200℃), many of geochemical parameters of alkane (OEP, ΣnC - 21 /ΣnC + 22 ,Pr/Ph) show that the higher pressure is, the more immature they are, the parameters does so at high temperature (400℃) except for some pressure points. The results indicate that pressure is one of factors that influence the maturation of organic matter as importort as temperature do, the pressure can retard the maturation of organic matter. It has important theoretics and practical significance studying on the function and influence of pressure by means of pyrolysis.
