Adsorbing of Minim Chromium(Ⅵ) in Wastewater by Chitosan

The adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) by chitosan (CHT) was studied under static condition. The optimal conditions of adsorbing Cr(Ⅵ) by CHT and the regeneration methods of CHT were discussed. The results showed that CHT had better adsorbing performance for Cr(Ⅵ) ion. The optimal conditions were that pH was 3~4, the concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) in wastewater was less than 60 mg/L, and the adsorption time was 8~10 h. The treating effect of CHT was good for Cr(Ⅵ) containing wastewater in electroplating works. Cr(Ⅵ) removing rate was above 98% and the method didn't affect the concentration of solution.
