Determination of Minim Cadmium (Ⅱ) in Treatment of Electroplating Waste Water by Catalytic Spectrophotometry

Trace cadmium(Ⅱ) ( Cd~(2+)) has strong catalysis for the chromogenic reaction of H_2O_2 and rhodamine B. For there is a linear correlation between the catalysis effect and Cd~(2+)concentration, the determination of trace Cd~(2+)by spectrophotometry can be built. Resuits show that the maximum absorption of colored solution is 560 nm, and the limit of detection is 0.31 μg/L. Beer′s law accords with Cd~(2+)in the range of 0～0.40 mg/L, and the recovery of adding standard solution is 96.5% ～100.1%. Combined with solvent extraction separation of KI - MIBK, the method is used to determine the trace Cd~(2+)in treatment of electroplating waster water.
