Effect of Ultrasonic on the Performance of Tin-Cerium Alloy Electrolyte

Orthogonal experiment was used to investigate the effect of ultrasonic on the stability of tin-cerium alloy electrolyte, the cathodic current efficiency, and the deposition velocity. The bath composition on the electrolyte stability of the tin-cerium alloy electrolyte was also examined. It was found that the effects of the bath composition on the electrolyte stability were ranked as ceric sulfateadditivestannous sulfatesulfuric acid. The electrolyte stability assumed a little decrease with increasing ultrasonic power, which was attributed to the energy and heat effects of the ultrasonic. However, ultrasonic contributed to greatly increasing the cathodic current efficiency and deposition velocity, which was attributed to the reduced polarization and accelerated electrode process in the presence of the ultrasonic.
