Review on Current State and Development of Thermally Sprayed Functional Gradient Coatings

A review was given on the current state and development of thermally sprayed functional gradient coatings.Thus the technical features of various thermal spraying methods applicable to the preparation of functional gradient coatings were summarized,and the advantages and disadvantages of these methods were briefed.Moreover,the recent progress in reaction thermal spraying technique developed from the combination of self-propagation high-temperature synthetic technique and thermal spraying technique and applicable to preparation of functional gradient coatings was introduced.And some perspectives were suggested concerning the development of thermally sprayed functional gradient coatings as well.
