Research Progress of Cast Multicrystalline Silicon

Xi Zhenqiang Yang Deren Chen Jun(State Key Laboratory of Silicon Materials .Zhejiang University .Hangzhou 310027)  
Recently.due to the superiority of low cost and high conversion efficiency,cast multicrystallinesilicon has been one of the main photovoltaic materials. The cast processes of multicrystalline silicon were comparatively developed- The research on its defects and impurities was in progress. The application of many technologies such as gettering. passivation and texturing, has remarkably improved the electrical and optical properties. In laboratory level,the best conversion efficiency of solar cells made by cast multicrystalline silicon is 18.6% In this paper,the research status .existed problems and its prospects are reviewed in detail.
