Ignition-proof Technology for Mg-Alloy Melting Process:Current Status and Future Prospects

The ignition-proof technology for magnesium alloys melting process,such as flux or inert gases protection, ignition-proof by alloying, and smelting system technology optimization, are reviewed. Future research hotspots in magnesium alloys smelting casting are also pointed out,including using new hazardfree fluxes,optimizing composition of SF-containing gas mixture SF6, using other gas or substance in place of SF6, developing hew ignition-proof magnesium alloys,and further optimizing smelting system technology.
