Progress in Research on Ultra High Strength Al-Zn-Mg-Cu Alloy

The process of the research and application of ultra high strength aluminum alloys are reviewed in this paper.The effects of the main hardening elements(as Zn,Mg,Cu)and the trace elements(Zr、Sc、Li、Ag、Be and Re)addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties are introduced.The technology of preparing and heat treatment of ultra high strength alloy and their new progress are introduced.The relations between its microstructures and properties as well as key mechanism of strengthening aluminum alloy are discussed.In the end,basing on the ex- isting problems of the present study,some suggestions for the futural exploration and research of ultra high strength aluminum alloys are put forward.
