Rapid Synthesis of Spherical Zeolite 4A at Low Temperature by Ultrasound

ZHONG Shengliang ZHANG Maisheng SU Qiang (School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering,Sun Yat-Sen(Zhong Shan)Universty,Guangzhou 510275)  
Good quality zeolite 4A can be rapidly prepared by ultrasound with surfactant presence at low temperature.The product is characterized by XRD,IR,SEM,and the particle size distribution is also measured.The product whiteness is 95%,calcium exchangeability is 318mg CaCO_3/g dry zeolite,average particle size is 1.64 μm and percentage of particle size distribution less than 4μm is 100%.Moreover,the crystal form of the product is spherical, which makes it more suitable to be used as detergent builder.
