Effect of Rare Earth in Magnesium and Magnesium Alloys

The effects of rare earth in magnesium alloys solution,including deoxygenating oxidation mixed, getting rid of hydrogen and the reciprocities of rare earth and impregnate are introduced.The influence of rare earth in magnesium and magnesium alloys,such as microstructures,mechanical properties,ignition temperature and anti corro- sion.are reviewed.The mechanism of rare earth in microstructure of magnesium alloy,for example refined grain,en hanced crystal and the panel of crystal.The ignition temperature and anti-corrosion of magnesium alloys were greatly amplified by the protection membranes were made up of MgO+Al_2O_3+RE_2O_3+Mg_(17)Al_(12),which are generated by the reaction of RE and oxygen etc element in the surface of magnesium alloy,and by the rare earth conversion membranes are generated by the effect of Ce、Y、Le.The development and application prospects for rare earth-magnesium alloys are analyzed.
