Shape Effect on the Thermodynamic Properties of Metallic Nanoparticles

The thermodynamic properties of metallic nanoparticles not only depend on the particle size,but al- so depend on the particle shape.The shape effect model of metallic nanoparticles,developed by the author,is intro- duced in this paper.The model can predict the shape dependent cohesive energy,melting temperature,superheating, melting entropy,melting enthalpy,vacancy formation energy,vacancy concentration and phase diagram of nanoparti- cles.The present predictions agree with the corresponding experimental results.
