Progress in the Design of Composites with Topology Optimization Method

According to the variable parameters, which are continuum or discrete, some algorithms are overviewed, such as homogenization method, variable density algorithm, variable thickness algorithm, moving asymptotes algorithm, simulated annealing algorithm, genetic algorithm, relative difference quotient algorithm and Tabu search technique. Some topology optimization methods that are applied in two- or three-dimensions composite designing are also discussed. The future studies of the designing of composites with the topology optimization method are pointed out in this paper.
