Progress and Prospect on Synthesis Methods of Nanosized Mn-Zn Ferrite Powders

Mn-Zn ferrite is one of most widely used soft magnetic ferrites in electronic industry, and its powder is required to be ultra-fine or nano-sized as electronic components and electronic instruments are becoming small-sized, light-weighted and high performance increasingly. As a new material, the study on it has been a focus of attention in the field of magnetic materials recently. In this paper, effective synthesis methods of nano-sized Mn-Zn ferrite powder are summarized, including co-precipitation method, hydrothermal method, Sol-gel method, spraying method, boiling circumfluence, supercritical fluid drying, and so on. The current work of writers in preparing nano-sized Mn-Zn ferrite powder is introduced. The development trends of methods of preparing Mn-Zn ferrite are discussed.
