Present Research and Developing Trends of Ultra High Strength Aluminium Alloys Contained Scandium Element

DAI Xiaoyuan, XIA Changqing, WU Anru, WANG Jiewen, LI Yangyong (School of Materials Science and Engineering, Central South University, Changsha 410083; Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Changsha University of Science and Technology, Changsha 410076)  
Scandium is the most effective alloying element to optimize the property of aluminium alloys. The mechanism of effects of scandium element on ultra high strength aluminium alloys are fining cast microstructure, inhibiting recrystallization, enhancing mechanical property, improving welding property and stress-corrosion resistance. Based on domestic and overseas research on aluminium alloys contained scandium, the paper puts some suggestions for the future exporation of ultra high strength aluminium alloys.
