Research Progress in Application of Hydroxyapatite in the Separation and Purification of Bioactive Substances

With the special composition and crystal structure, hydroxyapatite obtains excellent characteristics, such as selective adsorption,chemical and thermal stability, and it has been widely used for the separation and purification of bioactive substances. The characteristics and preparing methods of hydroxyapatite are reviewed in this paper, as well as the substrate materials used in separation and purification field. At the same time, the adsorption mechanism of hydroxyapatite and its application as the substrate material are introduced particularly.
