Synthesis of YAG∶Ce~(3+) Phosphor by High Energy Milling and Reactive Sintering

YAG∶Ce~ 3+ phosphors are prepared by high energy ball milling and solid-state reaction in reducing atmosphere at 1300℃.The influences of reaction time and cerium ion doping concentration on the performance of the phosphors are studied by X-ray diffraction(XRD), field-emitting scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and fluorescence spectra. The results indicate that the products are composed of single YAG phases when reaction time is 6 hours, and the particles are uniform and closely spherical. As molar fraction x of cerium ion is 0.06, relative emission intensity of phosphor reaches its maximum.
