Research Progress in Die Forging Technology of Titanium Alloy

Die forging is an important processing method for titanium alloy which is difficult to deform.In this paper,some main die for ging technologies of titanium alloy are reviewed,including traditional technologies(e.g.α+βforging,βforging)and new technologies(e.g.sub-βforging,quasi-βforging,near-βforging,isothermal forging and hot die forging).The theories,characteristics,the state-of-the-art on research and application of these technolo- gies mentioned above are introduced primarily.Lastly,the prospect of die forging technologies of titanium alloy in Chi- na is put forward while it is anticipated thatβforging(sub-βforging)and near net-shape technology(isothermal forg- ing and hot die forging)are research hotspots in future.
