Research Progress on Visible-light Induced Super-hydrophilicitic Nano TiO_2 Thin Films

The super-hydrophilicitic nano-TiO_2 thin films is one of the most potential self-cleaning material. However,it can only be excited by UV light(λ387nm)due to its large band gap(E_g=3.2 eV),and can't make effect use of visible-light in sunlight.This largely restricts its practical application.Therefore,it is one of the most im- portant subjects to investigate visible-light induced hydrophilicitic nano-TiO_2 thin films.The recent research progress in mechanisms of super-hydrophilicity of TiO_2 films,influencing factors and modification methods realizing visible-light in- duction are reviewed in this paper.The future application foregrounds are also expectation.
