Influence of Ti Substitution on Microstructure and Magnetic Performance of MnZn Power Ferrites

In this paper, the samples of MnZn power ferrite are prepared by oxide ceramic technology, and the new main formulations are presented in which TiO2 is added and Mn2+ is partly substituted by Ti4+.Since Ti4+is nonmagnetic ion, the new main formulations can certainly make a difference to the microstructure, magnetic performance and courier temperature of the ferrites. The results show that the proper substitution of Ti4+ for Mn2+ in manganese-zinc ferrite can increase the courier temperature. In addition, manganese-zinc ferrites with proper content of Ti can not only increase the initial permeability and density, but also reduce the power loss. In order to obtain good properties, the preferable substitution of Ti4+ for Mn2+ is 0.5mol%.
