Research Development of Quenching-induced Residual Stress of Aluminum Thick Plates

The forming mechanism and distribution of the quenching-induced residual stress of aluminum alloy thick plates are summarized.The development of research using FEM is also introduced.According to the results of ex- periment and numerical simulation,a local balanced stress and strain shift model for explaining the formation mecha- nism and distribution laws of quenching-induced residual stress in the aluminum alloy thick plates is proposed.Further- more,the main existing problems in research and the study direction are also pointed out.
