Progress in Research on Organic Small Molecule Light-emitting Red Fluorescent Materials

Organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs) has become a fascinating field for their excellent features such as high luminescent efficiencies, low driven voltages, high luminance, rapid response and potential for fabrication of large-area full-color flat panel display. Although highly efficient green organic electrofluorescent devices with good durability have been fabricated efficiently, the relatively poor red and blue electrofluorescent devices have been the bottleneck for the industrialization of OLEDs. In these years, the high performance guest-host structured red OLED with good efficiency (10lm/W) and good durability (half life 106 h) have been developed under an ultra low driven current density (0.02mA/cm2), thus the design of novel light emitting materials is of great importance. In this article, the recent progress in research on organic light-emitting red fluorescent materials is briefly reviewed.
