Studies on Structure and IR Spectroscopic Properties of Ni-doped ZnO Crystal

ZnO crystals doped with Ni are synthesized by the hydrothermal method. XRD and SEM results indicate that,the solid solution Ni2+/Zn2+O is synthesised when the Ni doping concentration is low,while orthorhombic hexahedron NiO appears when the Ni doping concentration is up to 5mol%. FT-IR spectra show that the ZnO crystal doped with Ni has a wide absorption band from 900cm-1 to 1400cm-1 which is stronger with the increase of the doping content of Ni,and samples have a better infrared absorbing property in both mid and far-infrared than ZnO.
