Research Progress in Magnesium Alloying Ignition-proof

A review is given of the effects of alloying elements(including Ca,Be,Zn,Ba,RE and combined addition) on the ignition-proof and oxidation resistance of magnesium alloys.The research trend is also pointed out,that is,multi-alloying is expected not only to suppress the ignition,but also to keep good plastic deformation ability of Mg alloys at room temperature.The extrusions for high-speed vehicles are the potential application of the new ignition-proof magnesium alloys.
