Progress in Study of Thermo-responsive Biodegradable Polymer Gels

Thermosensitive gel which exhibits a reversible phase transition in response to temperature is studied as a hotly discussed topic these years,for it can be used as a supporter of drug controlled release system.However, most of these gels are non-biodegradable and then their applications in biomedical areas are limited.Biodegradable linkages introduced into the polymer backbone will lead to the gel with both sensitive thermoresponse and biodegradability, the novel gels have attractive potential applications in the development of drug delivery systems.On the basis of pertinent documents,the scope of this paper is to review some important temperature sensitive biodegradable gels and their applications in drug controlled release.
