The Effect of Reaction Condition on Thermosensitive and pH-sensitive Performance of Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)/Sodium Alginate Hydrogels

Thermosensitive and pH-sensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)/sodium alginate hydrogels are synthesized by aqueous solution polymerization with sodium alginate(SA) and N-isopropylacrylamide as raw materials. At different temperature and different pH conditions. It is investigated that the effect of monomer concentration,the amount of cross-linker,the amount of initiator and reaction temperature on the swelling ratio of gels. The results show that the gel has a excellent performance of thermosensitive and pH-sensitive,the monomer concentration,the amount of crosslinker,the amount of initiator,and reaction temperature have important impact on the gel swelling ratio.
