Progress on Rolling Formation of Titanium Alloy Rod

Titanium research is toward high performance,low cost development.However,the rod rolling processes of titanium alloy are dissatisfied and the production are difficult to meet requirement for high-end market at present.Therefore,according to the rolling characteristics of titanium alloy,the rolling processes and ways are discussed to enhance comprehensive properties of titanium alloy rod.The effect of rolling parameters such as rolling temperature,velocity,deformation,hot treatment on tissue and properties of titanium alloy rod is analyzed.The defor-mation features of small rod are also demonstrated with stepping rolling,screw rolling,Y-type rolling and planetary rolling.Finally,the problems and development trend of titanium alloy rod rolling process are pointed out.
