Tailoring Microstructure and Mechanical Behavior of Mg Alloys by Pre-strained Twins

The progress on tailoring microstructure,mechanical properties and plastic processing performance of Mg alloy by pre-strained twins are systematically reviewed.The phenomena,mechanism and problems in strengthening and toughening of Mg alloy containing twins are concluded.The application of twinning in modifying texture and microstructure to improve the rolling,stretching and extruding performance are summarized subsequently.The mechanical anisotropy of Mg alloys with twins is also discussed.At last,the prospective and further trend of mechanical twins for modification of microstructure,texture and mechanical properties are presented.
