A Modified Yield Model of Powder Metal Material for Compaction Process

A theoretical model for the uniaxial compression of powder materials based on continue mechanics was presented.To further modify the model,initial relative density of compact and parameter of powder material were considerated.A new plastic poisson′s ratio expression and a new yield model for compressible P/M materials were derived.Uniaxial compression experiments of iron powder,copper powder and aluminum powder were conducted,the yielding model with modification was proven to be better in precision via studying the relationships between relative density and axial plastic strain,plastic poisson′s ratio,the geometry hardening coefficient of powder sintered material respectively and yield locus of 3J′2/Y0-J1/Y0 plane was also considered.
