Experimental Analysis and 3-D Simulation of Single Compression Tests of GCr15 Steel

The single compression tests of GCr15 steel were performed on Gleeble-3800 thermal-mechanical simulator at 950-1150℃ and strain rates of 0.1-10s-1.The stress-strain curves, the models of peak-stress and dynamic microstructure evolution of the steel were obtained.Also,three-dimensional FE models were developed to investigate the compression processes under different deformation conditions with the aid of MSC.Marc software and its subroutine code.The proposed models were utilized to analyze the strain distribution of specimens as well as to evaluate the influence of process parameters on dynamic recrystallized fraction and the grain size.The results showed that the simulated results of grain size were in good agreement with the experimental values.
