Research on the multi-pass shear spinning technology of small-angle conical workpieces

To fabricate small-angle conical workpieces(the semi-cone angle α=7°), the multi-pass shear spinning technology with pre-drawing has been put forward using LF2,LF6,LF21 aluminum alloy sheet blanks according to the experimental device,and high quality workpieces have been turned out successfully. The results show that the plasticity of materials has great influence on their spinnability and the materials should have excellent plasticity together with proper work-hardening property to gain high forming limit. By means of annealing every pass, the reasonable scheme of pass design is that the wall thickness should be reduced as much as possible within the forming limit in the preceding passes and in the last pass the reduction rate should be in a certain range(less than 50%). Moreover, keeping negative error(3% or so) of wall thickness and adopting big feeding rate are beneficial to improve the precision of spinning parts.
