An investigation on microstructure and properties of MB2 magnesium alloy deformed

In order to study the effects of deformation on microstructure and properties of magnesium alloys as-cast structure at the lower temperature, the modern metallurgy analysis and test methods were adopted. The structure evolution and recrystallization behavior were investigated that MB2 magnesium alloy deformed at different strains and temperatures and the stretch properties was tested. The results indicate that the grain of MB2 magnesium alloy as cast will be fined by extruding deformation and dynamic recrystallization, the grain size decreases from about 100 μm to 5 μm. At the same time, the tensile strength of alloy will descend with the deformed temperature increasing. This trend is stabilization at a certain temperature. At the same deformed degree, the grain will grow up with the rising of deformed temperature.
