Effect of loaded metal on electrochemical properties of the activated carbon composite electrodes

In this paper, high surface area activated carbons were mixed with phenolic resin to prepare the composite electrodes for supercapacitors. The electrochemical properties had been carried out for activated carbon composites used as polarizable electrodes in an aqueous electrolytic solution by constant current cycling ( CCC) methods. The effect of different kinds of loaded metals on the characterization of activated carbons composite had been investigated. It was shown that activated carbons loaded metal Mn, Cu and Co could improve the discharge capacitance of the electrodes, and the specific capacitance of AC - Mn electrode is as high as 265 F/g when carbonized at 700℃.
