Study on surfactant assisted microwave extraction of the pigment from Polygonum Cusdidontum Steb.et Zucc

The surfactant assisted extraction(SAE) was integrated with microwave assisted extraction(MAE) to extract a kind of pigment from Polygonum Cusdidotum Steb.et Zucc(PCSZ).The investigation on the new method for extracting the pigment was done.Results showed that the extraction rate was increased and the extraction time was reduced greatly when SAE and MAE were united into one process by optimizating the conditions of pigment extraction.The optimum extraction conditions of the method were PCSZ being 2 g,extractant being 0.03 % AEO-60% alcohol solution,extractant volume being 100 mL,microwave power being 800 W,extraction time being 0.0694 h,and the extraction performing times being 2.Compared with the traditional solvent leaching or the soxhlet method,the developed one reduced the extraction time from 24 h or 2 h to 0.0694 h,and increased the extraction rate from 77.2 % or 61.8 % to 98.9 % respectively.
