Application of TiO_2 modified PbO_2 electrode to electrochemical ozone production

In order to improve the electrocatalytic properties of electrodes in electrochemical ozone production,PbO_2-matrix composites containing nano-grade TiO_2 as the dispersed phase were obtained on Ti substrate.The crystal structure and component content of the modified PbO_2 electrodes were analyzed by XRD and XRF techniques and were applied to the electrochemical ozone production.In addition,the effects of different parameters such as current density,depth between electrodes,pH values of electroplating solution and the particle size of TiO_2 on properties of the electrodes were investigated.Results show that the doping of TiO_2 particles can improve the electrocatalytic properties of PbO_2 electrodes by increasing the current efficiency from 11.9% to 12.9%.The current density and depth between electrodes during electroplating can help to improve electrocatalytic properties of the modified electrodes.
