Preparation of Iron fibers prepared by thermal decomposition reduction of gel precursor fibers

The iron fibers were prepared with ferric citrate as starting reagent by thermal decomposition-reduction of gel precursor fibers.By preparing sol precursor with good spinnability in aqueous solution,dry spinning,gelating process,and thermal decomposition-reduction;the iron fibers with diameter of 10~15 μm were obtained.Different raw materials and ratios,as well as of pH value solution,were studied to improve the spinnability of sol precursor.FTIR,TG,XRD and SEM were used to characterized the formation of precursor sol,and the process of thermal decomposition and structures of products were studied.
