Stepped Spinning Experimental Study on Cylindrical Workpieces

Stepped spinning is a kind of advanced technology for manufacturing thin-long cylindrical workpieces.It develops rapidly,but the characteristics o f deformation regularity is very compicated,and there are many factors influencing the forming process.In this paper,stepped spinning experimental study is carried out.The effects of feed rate on radius reduction and the restrain function on forming area by the workpiece end are analyzed.It was put forward that a varing feed rate should be applied in the stepped spinning process in order to keep thickness well distributed.
